Kava Box B160

A whole store in one parking space. Open in 6 weeks, never closed after.

Kava Box B160 is an autonomous micro store: a modular 160 sq ft walk-in shop with up to 700 SKUs across ambient, chilled and frozen zones. Shoppers enter with a tap, the app, a QR code or a badge, take what they need and walk out. Ceiling cameras and shelf weight sensing write the receipt.

A1When a Box is the right answer

Built for sites that have outgrown a cabinet

The coolers keep selling out

When coolers empty daily and people still ask for frozen meals, pantry staples or a phone charger, the assortment needs a room, not a bigger shelf.

There's no room for a shop

It fits in a parking space, a lobby or a loading area, inside an indoor or outdoor shell. No build-out of the existing building.

People need it at odd hours

Residence halls at midnight, worksites before dawn, apartment lobbies on a Sunday night. No staff, no closing time.

When it's the wrong answer

If the site can't provide power and a level pad, or traffic won't support a 700-SKU store, a cooler or a kiosk is the honest recommendation.

A2Checkout without a checkout

Walk in, take it, walk out. The ceiling keeps count.

Entry starts the session: tap a card, open the app, scan a QR code or badge in. Ceiling cameras follow which products are picked up and put back, and weight sensors under each shelf confirm what actually left. When the shopper walks out, the session closes and the receipt follows.

Because weight confirms vision, a shopper who picks up two yogurts and puts one back pays for one. Because the store knows what left every shelf, restock lists come from real sell-through instead of a clipboard walk down each aisle. The cameras track products, not identities, and no images of faces are stored or sent.

  • Entry by tap, app, QR code or badge.
  • Ceiling cameras plus shelf weight sensing.
  • Ambient, chilled and frozen zones in one store.

Six weeks, step by step

  1. Weeks 1–2

    Site and pad

Site Intelligence scores the location, and we confirm power, a level pad and the delivery path for the modules. Indoor or outdoor shell is decided here.

  2. Weeks 2–4

    Assortment and layout

Up to 700 SKUs planned across ambient, chilled and frozen zones, with entry methods, payments and any resident or employee programs set in Kava OS.

  3. Week 5

    Set and connect

Modules are placed, joined and connected. Ceiling cameras and shelf weight sensors are calibrated against the planogram.

  4. Week 6

    Stock and open

First fill, test shops by our team, then the doors open, and they stay open.

Your parking lot may have a store-sized hole in it.

Count the cars that leave your site at lunch, or after a late shift, to buy something small: a frozen dinner, milk, a charger. Each trip is time someone didn't spend at work, on campus or at home, and some of those trips never come back. A Kava Box takes one parking space. Which is worth more to your site: the space, or the trips it would save?

C1FAQ

Autonomous micro store questions

Does the Kava Box need staff?

No one needs to be on site to sell. Restocking, cleaning and service are scheduled by the operator, or by us under Managed Operations.

Can it go outdoors?

Yes. The Box comes with an indoor or an outdoor shell. Outdoors it still needs a level pad and power, and Site Intelligence checks both before anything is ordered.

Can we start small and grow?

Yes. The base store is 160 sq ft and expands in 80 sq ft modules, so a site can add space once sell-through proves the demand. Expansion doesn't mean starting over.

What's recorded about shoppers?

Entry by tap, app, QR code or badge links the session to a payment method. The cameras track products, not identities, and no images of faces are stored or sent. See Security & Trust for the details.

What does it cost?

From $64,000 to buy, or from $1,790 per month on a 36-month VaaS term with Kava OS Pro and service included. The final figure depends on size, shell and temperature zones.
