Vending-as-a-Service
A store that never closes, for one monthly fee and zero capital.
Vending as a service puts 8Kava hardware in your building without a capital purchase. One monthly fee on a 36-month term covers the hardware, Kava OS Pro and service, from $99 per month. At the end of the term, the hardware comes back to be refurbished and redeployed.

What one fee covers, and what it doesn't
The hardware
The unit itself, delivered and installed: a cooler, vending machine, kiosk, locker bank, PPE dispenser, outdoor unit or micro-store.
Kava OS Pro
Fleet Command, forecasting and auto-replenishment, pre-kitting and routing, dynamic pricing, payments and loyalty programs, shopper analytics and 24/7 phone support.
Service
Monitoring by the 24/7 NOC, remote fixes and on-site repair on our standard field-service response targets.
Kava Link on VaaS fleets
Retrofitting legacy machines on a VaaS fleet? The $349 L2 module is included in the software price.
Not included: inventory and stocking
Products and restocking are separate. Your team, your operator, or our Managed Operations can handle them.
Not included: payment processing
Bring your own processor at no markup, or use Kava Pay at interchange-plus 0.35% + $0.05 per transaction.

| Kava Box micro-store | B160 | From $1,790 | From $64,440 | From $64,000 |
VaaS fees include hardware, Kava OS Pro and service. Purchase prices exclude Kava OS, which starts at $19 per device per month, and exclude service.
Over 36 months, VaaS is the cheaper line. After that, owning wins.
Take one Kava Cooler C2. On VaaS it's $189 a month, or $6,804 over 36 months, with Kava OS Pro and service included. Buying costs $5,900 up front plus $1,404 for Kava OS Pro over the same 36 months, before any service. Over the term, VaaS costs less, and the repair risk sits with us.
Owning pays off later. At month 37 an owner still has a working cooler and pays only for software and service, while a VaaS customer renews or hands the unit back. If you plan to run the hardware well past three years and have people to maintain it, buy it. If you want a fixed monthly cost and no asset to manage, VaaS is built for you.
- A fixed monthly cost, with no capital request.
- Software and service included, so repair risk is ours.
- Owning makes sense if you'll run the unit well beyond 36 months.

Assess
Site Intelligence picks the format and the spot, and the proposal shows both VaaS and purchase pricing.
Sign
A 36-month term with one monthly fee per unit. No setup fee for the software.
Install
A smart-cooler program of up to 10 units typically goes live 10 business days after signing.
Operate
Your team, your operator or 8Kava stocks it. We keep it running, updated and monitored.
Renew or return
Renew on a new term, or we collect the hardware for our refurbish-and-redeploy program.
We gave residents a 24/7 pantry in the lobby and didn't spend a dollar of capital.
Month 36: refurbish, not landfill.
8Kava hardware is designed for repair. Camera, lock and compute boards are modular, so a returned unit can be inspected, have worn modules replaced and go back into service at another site instead of being scrapped. That is what makes a 36-month term work economically for us, and it is why VaaS hardware is a reasonable choice for organizations with sustainability commitments: the cabinet, the glass and the refrigeration system get a second life.
If you renew, the conversation starts from 36 months of your own sales data. You may want the same unit, a bigger one, or a different format entirely.
Is the price the problem, or is it the budget it comes from?
A $5,900 purchase may wait two budget cycles for approval. A $189 monthly line item often fits inside an operating budget someone already controls. Before you decide a 24/7 amenity is too expensive, ask which budget it would have to come from, and who can approve that one this month.
VaaS questions
What exactly is included in the monthly fee?
The hardware, Kava OS Pro and service for the 36-month term. Product inventory, stocking and payment processing are not included. Stocking can be done by your team, your operator, or by us under Managed Operations.
What happens at the end of the 36 months?
You can renew, or we collect the hardware. Returned units go into our refurbish-and-redeploy program, where modular boards are replaced as needed and the unit goes back into service at another site.
Who pays the payment processing fees?
Processing is separate from VaaS. Bring your own processor at no markup, or use Kava Pay at interchange-plus 0.35% + $0.05 per transaction. Shoppers never pay a convenience fee.
Can operators use VaaS too?
Yes. Operators can add locations without capital, and Kava Link retrofits on a VaaS fleet are included in the software price. See For Operators for how that fits a route business.
