Kava Lockers LX

Hot stays hot, cold stays cold, and the laptop waits behind its own door.

Kava Lockers LX are smart lockers for business, built from modules of 6, 12 or 18 compartments. Mix heated (140–165 °F), refrigerated (35–40 °F) and ambient modules for meal pickup, online orders and IT asset exchange, opened by code, QR, badge or app.

A1What goes in a locker

One bank, five jobs, three temperatures

Hot meal pickup

Cooked in the kitchen, held at 140–165 °F, picked up by the night shift after the counter closes.

Online order pickup

Orders placed in an app or on a site, ready behind a door instead of at a staffed counter.

IT asset exchange

Drop a broken laptop, take the replacement. Every handoff is tied to a badge and a timestamp.

Tool and laptop loaners

Shared equipment checked out and returned without a sign-out sheet or a crib attendant.

Package rooms

Deliveries held in ambient compartments until the recipient taps in, not stacked in the mailroom.

Mixed banks

Put refrigerated and heated modules beside ambient ones, so lunch and a replacement badge share one wall.

A2How a pickup works

Prepared somewhere else. Picked up here, at any hour.

Lockers solve a different problem from coolers. The meal or the order is made elsewhere: in a kitchen, a commissary, a stockroom, an IT depot. The locker holds it at the right temperature until the person it belongs to arrives.

When an order is loaded, the compartment's door sensor and occupancy detection confirm something is inside, and the recipient gets access by code, QR, badge or app. When they open the door and take it, occupancy detection confirms the handoff. Nobody signs a clipboard, and a compartment that has been full too long shows up in Kava OS as an exception rather than a mystery.

  • Per-compartment door sensors and occupancy detection.
  • Access by code, QR, badge or app.
  • Every load and every pickup logged in Kava OS.
A3Kitchen to door

A hot meal, four handoffs, no counter

  1. Load

Kitchen staff place the meal in a heated compartment held at 140–165 °F. The door sensor and occupancy detection register it.

  2. Notify

The recipient gets access: a code, a QR link, their badge or the app.

  3. Pick up

They open their compartment, and only theirs. No queue, no cashier, no wrong bag.

  4. Confirm

Occupancy detection sees the compartment is empty, and it's ready for the next order.

Which of your services ends when the counter closes, not when the need does?

Most kitchens close because staffing a counter at night doesn't pay. The cooking doesn't have to stop when the counter does. Cook at 5 p.m., load heated lockers at 6:30, and the 2 a.m. shift picks up a hot meal from the same kitchen. The same logic applies to the IT help desk that closes at 6 and the mailroom that closes at 4. What else in your building is limited by a counter's hours?

C1FAQ

Smart locker questions

Can one bank mix hot, cold and ambient compartments?

Yes. Banks are built from modules, and each module is ambient, refrigerated (35–40 °F) or heated (140–165 °F). Plan the mix around what you hand off most, then add modules as demand shows up.

How does the locker know an item was picked up?

Each compartment has its own door sensor and occupancy detection. Kava OS records when the door opened and whether the compartment is now empty, so a pickup is confirmed rather than assumed.

Can we use lockers for laptops and tools?

Yes. IT asset exchange and tool and laptop loaners are core uses. Badge access ties each handoff to a person, and the log shows who took what and when.

What does a bank cost?

The LX-18 base bank of 18 compartments is $7,400 to buy, plus Kava OS, or $229 per month on a 36-month VaaS term with Kava OS Pro and service. See pricing for the full price sheet.
