A4Purchase or VaaS

The honest trade-off, worked through on one cooler

Take a single Kava Cooler C2. On VaaS it costs $189 a month, or $6,804 across the 36-month term, with Kava OS Pro and service included. Bought outright, it costs $5,900 up front, plus Kava OS Pro at $39 a month ($1,404 over the same 36 months), with service arranged separately.

Ownership wins when you plan to run the cooler well past 36 months, or you already employ the technicians. VaaS wins when capital is scarce, when you want one predictable line item, or when you'd rather never think about a compressor.

  • VaaS term: 36 months, with hardware, Kava OS Pro and service included.
  • At end of term, VaaS hardware is refurbished and redeployed.
  • On VaaS fleets, Kava Link is included in the software price.
B1Payments

Processing stays open. Shoppers never pay a surcharge.

Bring your own processor

Keep your merchant account and your MDB cashless readers. 8Kava adds no markup to processing.

Or use Kava Pay

Interchange-plus 0.35% + $0.05 per transaction. On a $4.25 sandwich, that's about 6.5 cents above interchange, with settlement reporting inside Kava OS.

No convenience fee

We never add a cashless surcharge for shoppers. The price on the door display is the price they pay.

Smaller PCI scope by design

Built to support PCI DSS scope reduction through P2PE-capable readers from certified processors.

How the 30-day Pro trial works

  1. Day 0

    Choose up to 10 devices

Any mix of 8Kava hardware and legacy machines. Legacy machines need a Kava Link module ($349) to connect.

  2. First weeks

    Let the forecasts calibrate

Every sale, restock and door opening feeds item-level forecasts. Pick lists start reflecting what each device actually sells.

  3. Through day 30

    Run Pro for real

Use pre-kitting, dynamic routing, expiry-aware pricing and Shopper Analytics on live routes, with 24/7 phone support.

  4. Day 30

    Decide on your numbers

Pick a plan for each part of the fleet, or stop. Monthly plans carry no long-term contract.

Think about itSlot B4

Pro costs $20 more than Core. What does one empty slot cost you?

If a cooler sells 60 items a day at $4.25, it takes in about $255 a day. Lose five sales to an empty slot on a single afternoon and you've given up $21.25, more than the monthly difference between Core and Pro on that device. Before comparing plan prices to each other, compare them to your own stockout and spoilage numbers. The ROI calculator does the arithmetic.

C1FAQ

Pricing questions

Is there a setup fee or a long-term contract?

There's no setup fee for Kava OS, and monthly plans carry no long-term contract. Annual billing takes 15% off in exchange for a yearly commitment. VaaS is the exception by design: a 36-month term that bundles hardware, software and service.

What counts as a connected device?

Any unit that reports to Kava OS on its own: a Kava Cooler, a Kava Vend, a Kava Kiosk, a locker bank, a dispenser, or a legacy machine with a Kava Link module. Plans are priced per connected device per month.

Can I change plans later?

Yes. Monthly plans have no long-term contract, so you can move up to Autopilot when you're ready for Kava Agent, or back to Core on devices that only need telemetry. Your sales history stays in place when you switch.

What does the free trial include?

30 days of Pro on up to 10 devices: forecasting, pre-kitting, dynamic routing, Dynamic Pricing, Payments & Loyalty, Shopper Analytics and 24/7 phone support. Legacy machines need Kava Link hardware to take part.

When does Enterprise pricing apply?

Volume pricing starts at 250 devices. Enterprise adds SSO via SAML/OIDC, custom data residency, a 99.95% uptime SLA, a named success manager and custom integrations. Talk to sales for a quote.
