Kava Outdoor O1 + SC-800 solar canopy

Cold drinks at the trailhead. No outlet required.

Kava Outdoor O1 is an outdoor smart vending machine built as a weatherized smart cooler: an IP55 enclosure rated for −22 °F to 113 °F ambient, vandal-resistant laminated glass and an anchored base. Add the SC-800 solar canopy and a 5 kWh battery, and it runs where the grid doesn't reach.

A1Where it goes

Built for places with weather and no front desk

Trailheads

Water, electrolytes and snacks before the climb and after it, with no building to plug into.

Parks

Pavilions, fields and boat launches where a staffed concession only opens on weekends.

EV charging plazas

Drivers waiting on a charge have time to kill and nowhere to buy a coffee.

Construction sites

Cold drinks for crews before dawn, on a site that won't have permanent power for months.

Event lots

Tailgates, festivals and overflow parking where trenching power for one weekend makes no sense.

Anywhere off-grid

With the SC-800 canopy and battery, the O1 never needs a utility hookup, a generator or a trench.

A2Weatherized

Built for the parking lot, not the lobby.

Indoor coolers lean on the building for half their work: walls, HVAC, a roof, someone nearby. Outdoors none of that exists. Kava Outdoor O1 starts from an IP55 enclosure that keeps out dust and water jets, an ambient operating range of −22 °F to 113 °F, vandal-resistant laminated glass, and a base that anchors to the pad.

Inside, it is still a Kava smart cooler, run from the same Kava OS console as every indoor unit, with R290 natural refrigerant and 72 hours of offline transaction buffering for sites where coverage comes and goes.

  • IP55 weatherized enclosure.
  • −22 °F to 113 °F ambient operating range.
  • Vandal-resistant laminated glass on an anchored base.
A3Off-grid

How a site with no outlet stays cold

  1. Panels collect

The SC-800 canopy carries 800 W of solar panels over the cooler, shading the cabinet while it charges.

  2. The battery carries

A 5 kWh battery stores the day's energy for nights and overcast stretches.

  3. The compressor schedules

Adaptive compressor scheduling cuts energy per refrigerated unit 19% across our fleet. Off-grid, every watt-hour it saves stays in the battery.

  4. Kava OS watches

Temperature alerts and device status reach the console like any connected unit, so a problem at a remote site is known before the drive.

B2Why remote sites need software

Far-away sites make every truck roll expensive.

Each visit to a trailhead or a job site costs more than a stop in a downtown lobby. These platform results, measured across 8Kava deployments, matter most where the drive is longest.

−41%out-of-stock eventswith Forecasting & Auto-Replenishment

Think about itSlot B3

The cheapest outlet is the one you never have to dig.

Bringing grid power to a trailhead, a park pavilion or the far edge of an event lot can mean permits, trenching and a long wait, and every dollar of it is spent before the first drink sells. A canopy with 800 W of panels and a 5 kWh battery arrives with the cooler. Before you scope the electrical work, price the option of not doing it at all.

B4FAQ

Outdoor unit questions

Does the O1 need grid power?

No. It runs on grid power where there is some, and on the SC-800 canopy with 800 W of panels and a 5 kWh battery where there isn't. Site Intelligence checks sun exposure and shading during the assessment.

How does it handle extreme cold and heat?

The O1 is rated for −22 °F to 113 °F ambient and housed in an IP55 enclosure against dust and water jets. Like all 8Kava refrigerated hardware, it uses R290 natural refrigerant.

What about vandalism?

The front is vandal-resistant laminated glass, and the base anchors to the pad. Device status reaches Kava OS like any connected unit, so a problem is visible from the console rather than discovered on the next visit.

What if coverage is patchy?

The O1 buffers 72 hours of transactions offline and syncs when it reconnects. If a site has no usable coverage at all, the site assessment flags it before anything is installed.

Can the solar canopy be leased?

Yes. The SC-800 is an add-on for the O1, at $6,200 to buy or $159 per month on VaaS alongside it. It is also part of our sustainability story: off-grid sites with no generator and no trench.

Put a cold drink where the power lines stop.

Send us the coordinates. We'll check sun, coverage and the pad, and tell you whether the site wants grid power, the canopy, or a different format.
